Driving the Icefields Parkway in Canada during a snowstorm, hanging from the back of a bike taxi in rural Thailand, Alice Griffin has always thrived on the sights and smells of new destinations.

With more than 10 years professional experience, Alice’s chance to marry her two great loves — writing and travel — came when she was employed as a researcher for a UK-based tourist guide. Traversing the world alone writing about destinations and accommodations along the way — she had found her destiny.

The arrival of her — now 6-year-old — daughter prompted an open-ended family travel adventure through Europe. Since this life-changing road-trip – and many more short-term travels — Alice has been singing the praises of traveling as a family and is now Family Travel Columnist for Mumsense, a family lifestyle magazine printed in the UK, and also for Transitions Abroad, a long-established and respected US-based website offering travel information to all.

In 2009 Alice documented travels taken during the first two years of her daughter’s life in her first book: Tales from a Travelling Mum: Navigating Europe with a Babe-in-Arms, which was published by Bookshaker and was also delighted to reach the shortlist of the Completely Novel Author Blog Awards for her creative blog, Fanciful Alice.

Alice lives on a boat near London, United Kingdom, with her husband, young daughter and dog. She is available to write and talk about all things travel-related, especially with regard to travelling with children!
