Join a rural community in Central Sri Lanka, close to one of the country's largest National Parks. You will assist the local teacher with activities such as; English teaching to children between the ages of 5 - 16 years old, teaching Mathematics, setting up and training the village football team, or assisting Horizon Lanka in its fundraising efforts. You will be living with a local family in the village to allow for complete cultural immersion. You`ll find waterfalls, beaches, excellent bird watching, fascinating culture, jungle and national parks on your door step.

Volunteer with elephants in Sri Lanka: The project offers GVI volunteers the chance to be involved in hands on conservation work and experience life on this beautiful island. As a volunteer you will work alongside field scientists and conduct surveys of the endangered Sri Lankan elephants. You will receive comprehensive training in the skills necessary to conduct the field work.
