Full-Time Academic Term Mandarin Chinese Study — 11-week terms
An 11-week intensive study program where students are fully immersed in the language and culture of China. Students study four hours of ability-tailored Mandarin Chinese classes per day, five days a week,for a total of 220 hours of Mandarin Chinese language training, similar to taking three semesters of Mandarin Chinese at an American University. Besides the core classes, every single student will have the opportunity to join us in our cultural activities and local tours. You can try your hand at ancient Chinese calligraphy, practice wushu with a kung-fu master, visit local historical sites, and enjoy the earthy beauty of the Manchurian countryside surrounding Shenyang.

Buddhist Studies in China
This program provides students the opportunity to interact, practice and study with residents of China's modern Buddhist communities, in some of Chinese Buddhism's most important historic locations. Students live in the monastery of Master Daoxin. The program focuses on understanding Buddhism's earliest introduction to China and the conditions that led to the development of uniquely Chinese schools of Buddhist thought, practice and expression. Take Core Courses, Meditation, Language, and Independent Study. Outings to surrounding Buddhist communities and historic places allow students to experience life in a variety of Buddhist environments and regions of China. Application deadline: March 15.

Chinese Studies in Chengdu
The Chengdu program offers intensive language study fulfilling up to 2 years of language requirements in only 1 semester. Additional courses in art history, economics, anthropology, political science, environmental health, sociology, literature, history, and calligraphy are taught in English and offer a multidisciplinary approach to understanding the complexities of China and Asia. Program is at Southwest Univ. for Nationalities, one of China's largest and most comprehensive universities; includes field trips, internship opportunities.

Summer in China: Matriarchs, Monasteries and Mountains
This program will be an exploration of the cultural and natural landscape of Guizhou and Yunnan provinces in China's Southwest, focusing on the ethnic diversity of the various borderland minority groups, such as the Miao, Buyi, Bai, Naxi, Yi, Mosuo, and Tibetan. Lectures will take place at museums, monuments, rural villages, temples and other sites. Credit wll be awarded by City College of San Francisco for Ethnology of China.

College of International Education at Tianjin Univeristy of Technology (TUT)
Study Chinese (Mandarin) Abroad in Tianjin China
The College of International Education at TUT is authorized by the Education Ministry of China to offer Chinese language programs that enable international students to gain proficiency in the Chinese language. Participants have ranged from the beginners to the advanced, who need a strong foundation in the language for various careers throughout the world, who are interested in Chinese culture, or who simply intend to live and travel in China. Apart from the language programs, elective courses such as Kongfu, Chinese painting, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese traditional musical instruments, Beijing opera, etc. are also available.
