Exotic travel dreams lured Friedel Rother from small-town Canada to France in 1998. The travel bug soon took hold and she's been on the move ever since, visiting some 40 countries in a constant drive to experience different cultures and ways of life. The latest adventure began in 2006, when she and her husband Andrew gave up office life to pedal bicycles around the world. She enjoys getting off the beaten track and owes a debt of gratitude to the warm and friendly people of Iran and the stunning mountains of Kyrgyzstan for some of her best travel memories so far.
As well as writing and podcasting for her own website, www.travellingtwo.com, Friedel has spoken to the Amateur Traveler (www.amateurtraveler.com) and written about Central Asia for the Adventure Cycle-Touring Handbook (www.adventurecycle-touringhandbook.com/).
